Where Do I Go From Here?

What is Informal Assessment?

Informal assessments are used as a form of non-standardized tools which allow teachers to obtain information about the child’s learning behavior and performance. Such assessments concentrate more on the content and performance rather than data. For example anecdotal records, a type of diagnostic assessment, is used to measure a child’s reading progress for that specific book.

The following informal assessments will be covered in this section:
·       Screening tests
·       Diagnostic assessment
·       Developmental assessments
·       Curriculum-based assessment
·       Educational assessment
·       Performance assessment
·       Portfolio assessment
