What is Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy?
Physiotherapy and occupational therapy are health and physically related services. Such services help enhance a child’s physical performance to facilitate daily routines which range from writing, jumping, walking, swimming, cutting… Just like speech therapy/language pathology, physiotherapy and occupational therapy can also be assigned to students who have other special needs or none.
Physiotherapy deals with pain, strength, joint range of motion, endurance, and gross motor functioning, whereas Occupational therapy deals more with fine motor skills, visual-perceptual skills, cognitive skills, and sensory-processing deficits. |
