What is Parental Involvement?
According to a study carried out by the Mount
Royal University (2012), parental involvement is “ having an awareness of and involvement in school-work, understanding of
the interaction between parenting skills and student success in schooling, and
a commitment to consistent communication with educators about student progress” (“Importance of Parental
Involvement”, p.5).
In other words, parent involvement is being active and committed to your child
and the school.
